Mission
Cedefop is the European Agency that promotes the development of vocational education and training (VET) in the European Union.

To ensure economic and social development it is essential that vocational education and training meets the needs of the citizen, the labour market and society. Building on a rich tradition of VET systems in Europe, governments and social partners devise policies for modern and innovative VET, which is a key element for employment, social inclusion and the competitiveness of the EU.

At the informal meeting of the Ministers in charge of Vocational Education and Training and Ministers in charge of Higher Education, held in Bordeaux on 26 November, Cedefop Director Aviana Bulgarelli announced the main results and messages from the policy reporting exercise Cedefop carried out in 2008, as part of its contribution to the Copenhagen process.
