Unemployment benefit for people who have worked abroad

Definition

This benefit is for people who have worked in countries in the EU, the European Economic Area, Australia or Switzerland, who wish to receive their benefit in Spain.

Requisites

  • Registration as a jobseeker (How do I register?).
  • Duly completed unemployment benefit application form (available from the Work Office).
  • Identification of the applicant, spouse and dependant descendants who feature on the application by means of valid originals of the following documentation:
    • For Spanish citizens: National Identity Document (DNI).
    • For foreign citizens resident in Spain: foreigner’s identity card or identity document from their country of origin, if from the EU, the European Economic Area or Switzerland.
  • Official family record book or equivalent document for foreign citizens.
  • If you have worked in countries in the EU or the European Economic Area, Form E301, or the established form if you have worked in Australia.

Presentation of applications

15 working days subsequent to the last day upon which entitlement was acquired (Sundays and public holidays and holidays excluded).

Place

At your Work Office from 8:15 to 13:30 h.

Duration

In accordance with the contributions paid in the countries you have worked in.

In accordance with the contributions paid in the countries you have worked in.
