Catalonia Occupation Service

The SOC Services

The SOC offers advising services to companies immersed in the Catalan labour market and collaborates with entities for developing programmes in order to improve the labour network.

The SOC has different ways of action:

  • Training courses
The Consorci per a la Formació Continuada de Catalunya manages several continuous training courses to promote businessmen/women and workers.

  • The intermediation
The Servei d'Ocupació de Catalunya has a network of professional people. The Oficines de Treball (job offices) look for qualified persons for holding job offers.
Once published a job offer, the SOC technicians, look for applicants in the job seekers database to get a list of persons, according to the required profile.

  • Advising on hiring foreign workers
The SOC offers this service to make easier hiring foreign workers in the countries of origin. It's a way of regulating the flow of migration and promotes the structured inclusion of the immigration.
The SILO offices, located at Morocco and Colombia, offer this kind of service.

  • Advising on doubts about hiring
The legal services advise on the current kinds of contracts and their advantages. The advising is addressed to workers and businessmen/women.

  • Advising on job placement
The job placement technicians will help you to design strategies for the job placement of your workers, in case of streamlining.

  • Subventions
The SOC promotes and publishes subventions for projects, actions and programmes with an effect on labour market.
