SOC telephone service for companies and councils to register job offers

This action is within the Local State Investment Funds

During the period included between the 3rd February and the 7th April of 2009, the Servei d'Ocupació de Catalunya (SOC) has made a telephone service available to hiring councils and companies in order to provide information about how to register job offers with the SOC, the aim being to respond to the hiring needs that may arise within the Local State Investment Funds.

This initiative further encouraged the employment of unemployed people registered with the SOC in municipal public works funded by the Local State Investment Funds and highlights the intermediation services of the Servei d'Ocupació de Catalunya to councils and especially companies.

File of datum for town

The SOC has produced a data file per council district, relating to the number of people registered in the Work Offices and who are available for work in jobs connected to the construction sector, in those projects that are included in the Local State Investment Funds.

The Local State Investment Funds

The Local State Investment Funds have been created by the Spanish Government with the aim of encouraging public investment in the local setting through funding works of new planning and immediate execution from the beginning of 2009, with a bearing on, therefore, the construction field, one of the sectors most affected by the current crisis. The Royal Decree for creating the funds states that, preferably, the hiring of unemployed people should be done through the public employment services.
