Labour intermediation services (SILO)
The aim of this service is make the hiring of foreign workers easier. It's a way of regulating the flow of migration and promoting the structured inclusion of the immigration.
SILO activity is developed with the Administració general de l'Estat and the authorities of the countries of origin..
Who can apply for SILO services?
Catalan companies who need to hire professional workers abroad.
When can I apply for SILO services ?
When you don't find the suitable profile at the Servei d'Ocupació de Catalunya (Catalan, Spanish and member of the CE). You can justify it:
- When the job offer is included in the contingent for foreign workers, agreed with the Council of Ministers.
- When the job offer is included in the Catalogue of all obs difficult to hold.
- When the job offer is managed by the corresponding Work Office which has issued a certificate of absence of applicants for the mentioned job offer.
How can I apply for SILO services?
Through the Oficines de Treball de la Generalitat (Work Offices). You can do this application simultaneously or before the process that the Governement offices will carry out.
The screening service of SILO makes the hiring process easier.
What do I need to receive SILO services?
Companies must give to the Work Office the following information:
- Characteristics of the job offer (profile)
- The scheduled calendar for the hiring.
- Procedures done or pending procedures to do at the corresponding Foreign Office (state of procedures).
- The format of the information.
What kind of services does SILO offer to companies?
Screening services
The SILO can do the screening process of the applicants. Then the company only will have the suitable profiles for holding the job offer. During the screening process the SILO always contacts companies in order to inform them about the evolution of the screening process.
The SILO speeds up the authorization of work and residence permits, given by the Consular Office.
Accompaniment services or go on the behalf of the company at the Consular Office
The SILO can accompany or go on the behalf of a company at the Consular Office.
Training courses for the applicants
Training courses for the applicants, if necessary (training courses about social, labour and cultural questions of Catalunya).
