El Servei d'Ocupació de Catalunya (SOC) promotes different types of subsidies to qualitatively improve the management of the temporary hiring of recently arrived workers undertaken by the agricultural and harvesting companies and the conditions of these people during the work contract.
The projects developed are destined at the 2008 fruit harvesting campaign that have the aim of:
The projects for hiring unemployed workers for undertaking works and services of a general and social interest, the non-profit entities and the local entities.
For developing actions of an innovative and experimental nature in questions of intermediation and employment, the business organisations and most representative trade unions from the farming sector.
Seasonal workers.
Budget set aside for the subsidies: 1,324,000 euros.
This initiative is co-funded by the European Social Fund for contracting projects in collaboration with non-profit entities and local entities.
During the 2008 agricultural campaign the SOC will encourage other positive actions for improving occupational intermediation through the Employment Offices, particularly with the incorporation of mobile offices that will bring the service closer to the towns that take part in the campaign. These offices are staffed by personnel who provide personalised attention to both the agricultural businesspersons and the workers.
