Evaluation centre

The evaluation centre is a very used methodology in the screening process.

It takes one or two days and they use it to evaluate the competences of the applicants in several situations of a job.

They avaluate the motivation, the ability to work under pressure, the verbal communication ability, the writing ability, leadership, work as a team, persuasion, data analysis and interpretation...

There are many activities and they can include:

  • Write a report: They will give you written material related to the activity of the company and you will have to write a report with your recommendations. There is a time limit in this exercise. They will evaluate the analysis ability, reasoning and written expression.
  • Do a presentation: in front of the other applicants and the examiners. They will evaluate your ability to structure a presentation, the oral expression, the ability to speak to audiences, etc.
  • Exercise of the tray: The activity consists of supposing that you have been hired for the job. So, they will give you a tray full of documents, letters of customers, rates, report inquiries, calls, emails, etc. The aim is to do this work in an stipulated time. They will evaluate your ability to plan, to administer your time, the solving ability, verbal and written communication...
  • Have lunch or dinner with directors: Remember that in this situation your aim is not to eat or to drink. Show a positive and optimistic attitude, so they can think that it would be pleasant working with you. Remember the name of each person and show interest in their jobs. Seize to solve doubts.
