In a job interview the interviewer asks all kind of questions. We mention some of them, classified in thematic blocks.

About your learning courses

  • Why did you choose the studies you have done?
    The answer must be coherent and well reasoned. Avoid answers like: "because I didn't know what to do" or "because of my low average mark".
  • How did your studies influenced your professional career?
  • What kind of subjects did you prefer?
    You can mention subjects related to the job.
  • What kind of subjects were difficult for you? Why?
  • If you could start again, would you do the same studies?
    Justify the answer and adapt it according to the job offer.
  • Are you ready to complement your training?
    If you say yes, the interviewer will have a good impression because you will show interest.
  • How many languages do you know? Tell me the level of each one.
    They can check the answer. It's important to be sincere.
  • Who influenced you to choose your studies?
    Once again, it's important to be sincere but remember that it's a good idea mention persons with more experience than you.
  • Do you think your good marks are because of your intelligence or because of your effort?
    The perseverance and the effort are very valued in the labour market.
  • Tell me the most gratifying experience of your life as a student?
    You must show enthusiasm answering this question.

    Remember that "you can never learn too much".

  • What kind of relationship you had with your previous manager? Tell me your common and different thoughts
  • Do you remember any problematic situation in previous jobs? How did you solve it?

  • Tell me your main virtues
  • Tell me your main defects
    Don't say that you don't have them. You can say positive things like: "I am very perfectionist" or " I'm very punctual and impatient when people are late".
  • Tell me the relationship with your parents/brothers/couple/friends?
  • How do you react in front of an authority?
  • How would you define you?
  • What do you do in your leisure time?
  • Talk about your hobbies, not about your professional activities.
  • What does this sport bring to you? or, The last film you have seen? or, The last book you have read?

  • Why have you contacted our company?
    Seize to praise the company: "It's a very important company in the sector ".
  • Why are you interested in this job?
  • What do you think you can bring to the company if you don't have work experience?
  • Why do you think you are able to do this job?

Questions related to the job

  • Why do you think we must offer you the job?
    Give examples of solving problems with success, working as a team etc.
  • What do you expect from this job?
    The answer must be related to the opportunities that you can find in the company...
  • What do you think about your previous managers?
    Don't say negative things.
  • The aspect that you value the most in a job?

Questions related to your future

  • Tell me your aims, in a short, medium and long time period?
  • What job would you like to do in 5 years time?
  • Would you be ready for relocation, if necessary?

About personal conditions

  • Can you start immediately?
  • Would you mind travelling frequently?
  • Do you have a car?

About economic benefits

  • Specify the minimum benefits you expect in order to cover your current needs?
  • How much money do you want to earn?
  • Is the economic aspect the most important thing in your decision?

  • The specific functions of the job.
  • What do you expect I can get with this work?
  • The current situation of the job.
  • The challenges or the difficulties that you can find in this job.
